We went to the Christkindlmarket this weekend. It’s a European style Christmas Market down in the city. There are lots of wooden ornaments and hot spiced wine and brats and sweets and big decorations. It’s always a mob scene – it makes for a sort of painful fun.

On our way we happened upon a big group of Santas. I have no idea what they were up to. They stood on the steps of the Art Institute and sang a couple Christmas songs. Bea pointed and said “hanta”.

I also accomplished a couple Christmas making projects on my list. I made decorated cookies and I finished Bea’s Christmas dress. I was going to make it out of some old bark cloth that I got at a rummage sale but when I washed it (on the delicate cycle) it came out shredded to pieces. So I used some William Morris style fabric that I had in my stash. I was pleasantly surprised with how it came out. I used this pattern – thanks for lending it Jennifer.
