If you look closely in the Swiss grocery stores you’ll see some products that seem to be targeted at Americans. Things like this bread. They call sliced bread like this toast. Notice the stars and the Uncle Sam type hat. And it says Great for Big Sandwiches – it might as well say Great for Big Fat Americans Who Find Swiss Bread Tiny and Too Crusty. Sometimes I just want some soft white bread – and so does Bea.

Here are some hamburger buns with the tell tale stars and stripes – they scream Hey Americans these are for you!

We Americans can’t live without marshmallows. These are imported from Elk Grove Illinois – not from the Rocky Mountains.

The package says A True American Tradition and there are directions for roasting marshmallows on the back. Oh and this smaller that a US sized bag costs about $5.00. That makes for some pricey Rice Krispie Treats.

And then there is the Nick the Easy Rider Peanut Butter (click to enlarge). More stars and stripes just to make me feel at home when I make a PB and J on XXL soft white white bread (see above). Who is Nick the Easy Rider and why is he on my tiny jar of peanut butter? Can anyone fill me in?

Oh Mommy groceries are so funny!
