It’s dreary here and there is sadness in the back of my mind when I think of the difficult time my family is going through in Midland. I also feel frustrated by a hundred small things associated with living away. We seem to be getting a ton of rainy days. There are flashing lights that come on when it is going to be stormy. They are located at a few points that we can see around the lake. I keep remarking to Brian that those lights seem to be on more than they are off lately. So I have been huddling around my sewing machine. Retreating to pick out pleasing color combinations for my quilt blocks. I am thankful for beautiful colors.
We went to find snow again over the weekend. While it’s gray/brown here at our low elevation we can drive about 40 minutes and find snow that is as deep as Brian’s leg. We went to a ski area called Hoch-Ybrig. We only got out of the car, hiked up a hill and slid back down but the girls laughed a lot and the snow was beautiful.

Next weekend we’re going away for the whole weekend and the girls will have ski lessons. We’ve been busy gathering all the gear so we can fit in with the ski scene.
