This morning Bea left for her school ski trip. They left at 7:00 a.m. for 3 days in Davos and I expect she’s on the snowy slopes by now. Claire gets to go for a day trip tomorrow. They call it a snow day but instead of staying home because of snow it’s a day to go to the mountains and sled and play in the snow. Bea returns Friday and that will be their last bit of winter.
On Monday when I went out grocery shopping it felt so warm and springy. I hate to rush things along but it really felt like winter is over.
I even saw a bee!

I found a big sunny platter at the Brocki. I can’t wait to see it filled with a huge salad out on our patio table this summer.

We had parent/teacher conferences recently. We still snicker when we hear Claire’s (British) teacher say maths. I was at school the other day helping with a sewing class and I asked a kid to put some fabric “in that bin”. I quickly changed my phrase because I remembered that bin means garbage. We speak American.

Here’s Bea speaking to her whole school (!) during a school assembly. The student council led this assembly and talked about safety around the school. Then they had a quiz for some teachers. Bea did a great job and there were lots of laughs.

This Lindt bunny-mobil was parked at our apartment building over the weekend.

My girls love the Lolipop candy store at the Zurich main train station. The sweet smell is overpowering and the shop is the size of a large closet. I sort of love/hate it.

Sometimes I like the look of my paint palette more than the thing I end up making.

Over the weekend we went out to enjoy the sunshine. Bea and Brian biked and Claire and I drove – we met for a little hike along Lake Zurich. Here’s a photos that Claire snapped from the car.

As soon as the Olympics finished (sniff) we got out our Easter decorations. Yay! Spring!
