Look what I got from our friends – and all I had to do is invite them over and make a very ordinary meal. Lucky me!

What is it about clothes that I make? I had to plead and plead to get her to try these on for 5 minutes. I made two more things for the Kids Clothes Challenge.
The blue shirt is another one of Brian’s old work shirts. I left part of the pocket on the back so we’ll be reminded that it once belonged to Daddy. And I used the plackets from the origional shirt – saving me having to do buttons – yeah. It’s the 2+2 Blouse pattern from Oliver and S that I’ve made many times.

This wrap dress is a pattern that I’ve made before I used up some fabric that was left over from the binding of Claire’s quilt. I might have to add a pocket if I want her to wear it.

I hope you did.
Thank you for reading my blog. I wish I could see you and tell you everything in person but having you read my blog is the next best thing.

In preparation for the big move – Brian and I have been going through our clothes and getting rid of things we don’t wear. I made a strange little dress out of one of Brian’s old shirts because I just can’t stand to get rid of that nice shirting fabric. It’s made from the Popover Sundress pattern. I put the shirt pocket front and center and added a kitty button to make it more attractive to Miss Claire. She promply filled up the pocket with little trinkets.

The Kid’s Clothes Week Challenge is coming up so I’m trying to decide what to make out of some other old clothes. Stay tuned.

Before Bea was born I embroidered this little bee onto some onesies for her.

The other day Bea found the little paper pattern that I used to trace the bee in my sewing stuff and she asked me to put it on this hat that she found at the brocki.

I like to sew for my Bea.
We soaked up lots of sun this weekend and it felt so good!
On Saturday we went to a part of Zurich that we haven’t explored much before. This is an ineresting store made of shipping containers. You can go up to the top to look out over the city. It was timely to be inside a shipping container – we told the girls: this is what our stuff will be packed into when it goes on a boat to the US.

Then we went to a playground nearby and soaked up some more sunshine.

Bea lost a tooth on Tuesday and on Friday – so she is very toothless now.

On Sunday we went for a Sunday drive towards the mountains. The girls wanted the windows down and they were so excited to be in a car with the wind blowing through their hair. I wonder if they will be so excited by a car trip a year from now.

So nice to hit the road and just enjoy the scenery… until Claire barfed on the way down a very curvey mountain road. Yes, I think we have confirmed that she gets motion sickness.

Back on flat ground and almost back home – we stopped for lunch in a town called Laken.

Bea found some snails the other day. She studied snails at school last Fall and her teacher kept some in an aquarium. They painted the shells with a dot and then later, after they were released, one was (amazingly) found on their playground. So we had to do the same. We painted them with finger nail polish – pink of course.
