• No Mommy, I’m too busy to put on the hat you made for me.

Amazingly, Bea was willing to model the hat and it fits her too.

The pattern is from the Oliver + S book called Little Things to Sew. It went together quickly and easily. Now if we can just get Claire to love it as much as I do.

  • We just got back from a few days in the mountains. We saw the beautiful sights by train, by funicular and by way, way up high gondolas. I was so happy to be able to show Mom and Dad the Swiss mountains. And we really lucked out with the weather – we had chilly, but wonderfully sunny days.

Another playground with a fantastic view:

We stayed here in a comfortable apartment:

Here we go up to the tippy top of the world or at least 2970 meters up.

Back down closer to the ground we ran into a very friendly Bernese Mountain dog:

Overlooking the valley where we stayed and wrapping up a great trip:

  • Grandma and Grandpa came and it promptly turned to Fall. Or maybe winter up on the mountain top. Here is our photo of this sign on the top of Mt. Rigi in September:

And here is the same sign yesterday:

Bea loved the snow and we actually did have a few minutes of sunshine so we enjoyed the view on the way up in the cog wheel train.

  • Not sure if this really qualifies as a pinafore, but that’s what I’m going to call it since it’s meant to be worn over something. The pattern is from a Swedish magazine – a wrap-around style with bias tape trim and ties. I’ve been coveting this fabric for a while and finally decided to cut into it this weekend when Brian took the girls out. Now, what’s the trick to getting Bea to wear it?

  • We seem to go in streaks with our craftiness. While Claire napped we made goofy glasses.

  • Inspired by this blog post, we made some salad spinner art:

And inspired by this artist, I made these:

  • Today I did a little shopping at our Brocki (it’s like Goodwill or the Salvation Army). I only spent about 20 Swiss Francs which unfortunately these days equals 22.08 dollars. But still – it makes me happy to find little treasures for myself and the girls.

I’ve come to love the old puzzles from a company called Ravensburger. I picked up three puzzles including a really cool modular scene maker.

I also got this little plate from holland – love the line drawing.

Some more wooden blocks to add to our collection. And another red suitcase to go with my other one.

All this, some little boots for Claire and some wooden beads too.

  • Isn’t this the coolest picture ever – and it keeps getting cooler every year. I love that Jenna.

  • Cookies:

    And funny faces:
