Oh Spring when will you arrive?
It’s wet and gray outside. I feel very unmotivated. I’m doing the bare minimum of housework – just waiting for the day when I can open all the windows and let some fresh air into the house. Spending way to much time escaping to a long list of inspiring blogs but then not doing anything with the inspiration. I managed to bake some peanut butter cookies but now I have a huge lack of will-power and have been eating what feels like about 12 cookies each day (it was a big batch).

I love you more than sparkling snow at night.
I love you more than those nasty Micky doughnuts.
I love you more than the sound of scissors cutting fabric.
I love you more than you love stinky cheese.
I love you more than the Fall sunshine on my cheek.
I love you more than I did on our wedding day.
I love you more than naps.
I love you more than you love Netflix.
I love you more than the scent of lilacs.

We were facing a day of being stuck inside yesterday so we decided to check out a place we’ve never visited before – The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. I wish we hadn’t waited so long to check this place out. It was very cool and the perfect size for my little person. We saw lots of frogs and bugs and snakes. A really cool exhibit about Chicago waterways. A hands on play area for toddlers. The coolest part was the butterfly haven. It was a big greenhouse area with tons of butterflies fluttering around. We stayed for a long time and we had the place almost all to ourselves. It reminded me of the Dow Gardens butterflies and all the work that went into that event and how cool it was to be surrounded by butterflies before the crowds arrived.
Here are some photos from our day:

She loves carrying an umbrella – right after that last photo was taken her umbrella blew away and mommy had to run really, really fast to catch it. It kept going and going and going. Luckily a jogger came by at just the right time and caught the umbrella before it blew into the street. -
We’ve prepared just a little mess for you:
